If stretch marks are staining your beautiful skin and you want to get rid of them, you can try to do a few things at home. Before you read about the best remedies to treat stretch marks at home, you should know that no treatment has guaranteed results. Stretch marks are not like the common cold or a fever that will go away completely within a couple of days of treatment. It takes time for stretch marks to partially or fully vanish. What the following remedies can, however, do is reduce the duration of the stay of stretch marks by helping your skin heal faster.

5 remedies to try at home

1. Mustard Seed Mask

Here are the ingredients for the mask.
• Mustard seed powder (one teaspoon)
• Wheat flour (two teaspoons)
• Almond oil (about ten drops)
• Mustard oil (one teaspoon)
• Turmeric (half a teaspoon)

Mix wheat, flour, and mustard powder first. Add turmeric, mustard oil, and almond oil while constantly stirring the mix. Add water and mix well to create a fine paste. Apply to the stretch marks and let it dry. After it has fully dried, sprinkle some water and massage the area for a few minutes. Wash with cold water, dry the surface, and apply your favorite lotion. The vitamin K, C, and A in the mask will help get rid of stretch marks faster.

2. Sugar Exfoliation

Sugar can be a great exfoliating agent. Take a spoonful of sugar in a small bowl and mix some lemon juice and almond oil in it. Mix them well to get a paste and apply on your stretch marks. Massage the area for about ten to fifteen minutes before rinsing with water. Do it for 30 days to get the best results.

3. Aloe Vera

There is hardly going to be any list of skin treatments without aloe vera being on it. Aloe vera can treat various skin-related issues including stretch marks and sunburns. Locate an aloe vera plant, break one of the fleshy leaves, and apply the gel directly to the affected area. Use warm water to clean, and make sure to repeat the process for four weeks for the best results.

4. Hyaluronic Acid

You can go to a store nearby and find hyaluronic acid extract easily. The extract you find in the market is prepared in the laboratories, but your body also has this acid in abundance already. Hyaluronic acid works by boosting collagen production and preventing your skin from ripping. Don’t let the word “acid” scare you. This acid is perfectly fine for your skin even if you apply it directly.

5. Coconut and Almond Oil

Mix coconut and almond oil equally and massage the area that has stretch marks rigorously. You can massage for up to 10 minutes. You don’t have to remove the oils straight away. Just wash the area when you take a bath. It is the skin-healing effects of vitamin E in almond oil and moisturizing effects of coconut oil that help fade the stretch marks faster.

You must be patient with any of these methods. No home remedy or topical treatment will have any miraculous results. Wait for at least one month for any noticeable results.
